Woulda done it in a minute

Vada listened carefully. She could at least do that much for Rico. Although, it was quite annoying. After all, she'd found a better apartment near the University.

"What does your father want you to do?"

"Visit my mother," he said his mother lived in a little town near Austin.

"Oh, well..how would you go?" She asked next as she was trying to decide if she needed a new bed. Well, of course, she did. She had to get rid of anything that reminded her of Justin. She paced about her little place. She could hardly wait to leave. There was still a lot to pack. Vada nursed the corner of her bottom lip and looked back at Rico alone on her couch.

"I'm not going." He looked at her blankly. She went back to the couch and sat next to him. It was a sigh of relief.

"I need you, you know," she let a smile slip as her bare leg bumped against his and her little finger touched his hand. "How am I going to move to my new place."

"So, this place will be available," He looked at her as if he would be comfortable here.

"But you could be with me," she looked at him blankly.

"Maybe, you need to have your own place," he was even lipped. He looked about at the studio. "I want my own place." He told her he'd been saving up. It wasn't that far from the University and he wasn't that far from her new place either.

"But," Vada pressed her lips tight. "Won't you be over at Sammie and Gabe's all the time?"

"I wouldn't do that to them," he shrugged.

Vada nodded. Yes, he wasn't Justin looking for a free handout. Oh, it made her miserable thinking about him. She felt now he'd only brought her bad habits.

"Look, I could give you the old stuff that's here. Except the bed, the bed has to go," she told him.

Rico nodded. He said he would miss his bed at home. "But you'd take all your wardrobe and dishes right?" He said he could take over the rent.

"I wish I could have everything new, but I know that's asking for too much." Vada pressed her lips. Of course, she wasn't giving up. Sure they were friends, but she needed a lover.

    1. Rico is just out of high school. And I can see how he would want to be out on his own. I'm not sure Vada gets that. She tends to have a different set of goals than his. Although, Rico is one of those, who does look older, but being a male ..possibly more sheltered than he even knows, might not be ready for Vada, and possibly, he knows.

    1. These are Alec Benjamin lyrics. He's a newcomer. With a sweet voice. He has joined voices with a few good friends in China, as well. I do find him inspiring. The song is IN A LITTLE.

  7. Sometimes others bring out the best in us, sometimes the worst.
Your character might be right in thinking he brings out her bad habits.
