So really I'd better scurry

 "Would you check on him?" Liv's question alarmed Jade when she called about Tristan being sick.

"What?" Jade shook the thought, or maybe she shivered. God, it was so cold, she wasn't going anywhere unless she had to. "NO."

She squinted, thinking she had spoken too harshly. "I'm sure he's OK."

No way, could she reach out to him after their last odd conversation while waiting for pizza. 

"Why not?" Liv sounded hurt. This wasn't like her. She thought she couldn't stand her brother.

"Because," Jade went to pour more coffee in her warm cup of coffee. She poured Air a cup of coffee too. He was in the shower. They only had twenty minutes for breakfast. They'd already done that other twenty-minute thing while they were in bed after the alarm went off. Her hair was still wet and she was freezing even in winter pajamas

"I..I'll try to get ahold of Dale," Jade thought this was against her better judgment to get involved in this.

"I just don't want anything bad to happen to him," Liv said.

"Really?" This surprised Jade.

"He's all Mom's got."

She sounded upset.

"What about Carmen..and you know..what's his name." She couldn't remember who Liv's parents adopted.

Liv wouldn't speak.

"Liv? What's wrong?" She was crying.

Jade looked over her shoulder and saw Ari as if he wanted to know who was calling so early. OK, she understood Liv, yes she was a bag of emotions being pregnant. A part of her wondered if she'd ever be that emotional. 

It worried her they might wait too late to  have kids. She'd never let this bother her until now. Everyone was pregnant, but her (Jade).

"Look, it'll be OK," Jade told her. "I promise I'll look into it."

She watched Ari scratch the back of his neck in thought. She knew that look. He thought they had far too many friends as it was.
