I get thoughts and dirty socks piled in the corner

Randy sank into sadness when he found out Cassie was in the hospital. Was it all because of him?

He hadn't meant to be so dangerous. Of course, it was her who kissed him first. It didn't feel so bad then. In fact, it was like a new beginning of some kind. He'd never felt this way, and it was like spring was full of new happenings for him.

Yeah, he wanted her more. It made him smile for no reason. It seemed Jared was the only one who noticed. He was still around, but he spent most of his time with Jewel (Jade's pregnant sister).

"Oh, I know that look," he teased. "The look of love."

Of course, Randy believed it. He certainly loved Cassie in every way, but he knew to keep it a secret. Even from Jared. No telling what he might tell his brother Justin (Randy's guardian).

"Oh, I don't know about that," Randy was at least smart enough to tell him. Still, Jared was around. He would pick Randy up from work.

Jared finally got a driver's license since he needed one with his University job. In fact, Jewel sold him the car that never really worked. It was a little red Fit that had been in her garage for ages. He'd tinkered with it and now he had transportation, and since Randy's job was on the way home, he would pick him up.

Jared had seen Randy with Monica. Perhaps it was misleading. Sure, they smiled at each other. She brought him snacks. And they could be friends, couldn't they?

"I can see it in your eyes, her eyes too. You got it bad for each other," Jared snickered.

"Bad?" Randy squinted with distaste He road on the passenger side on the way home. The brisk cool spring air made his hair stand on ends, Of course, he looked like some happy mut with his head hanging out the window as he breathed in the fresh air.

Randy didn't think so. Besides, the only person he had on his mind was Cassie, and she was sick. They wouldn't even let him visit.

Yes, he felt troubled. Still, it felt so pure to kiss her, but he didn't want her to be a sleeping beauty, either. Besides, he just knew there would be beeping machines. A needle in her arm. Yes, he was devastated. Still, he had to act as if nothing was wrong. Yet, his heart ached. He hoped Cassie would pull through.
