Not exactly a pinkie promise

 Sammie was a little shocked to see Caitlin, but Sammie knew she couldn't be the reason Caitlin was here. Naturally, Caitlin didn't ask Sammie how she was feeling, but instead wanted to know if she and Gabe saw much of Pan and Wade anymore.

"Oh, not much," she shrugged. "I don't think they've gone on a vacation,  you know. They both stay busy."

"So I don't guess Wade has ever mentioned that brother of his," Caitlin was curious to know.

Sammie didn't even know Wade had a brother other than Elvis, and they only saw him and his family during the holidays. Of course, Sammie made a mental note to ask those two over for dinner. After all, they had a baby now. Of course, her mind was on baby things, and Caitlin wasn't even there with her two. 

"I don't know what you're talking about?" Sammie went to get them cold lemonade from the fridge. She offered Caitlin fresh-baked oatmeal cookies, and Caitlin ate three while she was talking to Sammie in her kitchen.

"Well, Wade is bad news if you ask me," Caitlin finally got situated in a stool at the counter. She brushed her fingers through her chin-length hair. "But of course, everyone thinks he's adorable and can do no wrong." That's when Caitlin mentioned she went to the University with him, and was terribly suspicious of him. Evidently, they kind of sort of dated. For a moment, Sammie did wonder if this was all in Caitlin's head, but she listened.

"What did he do? Exactly?" Sammie squinted. Wade was a police officer for a while but was now in the detective unit. It seemed odd that Caitlin found him so mysterious.

"Nothing, I guess. Or so he wants you to believe," Caitlin said Wade knew a friend of hers who was no longer around. "He was Melvin."

"Melvin?" Sammie squinted. The name sounded so familiar.

"He's the owner of Mel's Pizza." Caitlin clarified. It was as if she needed a mole, and she was counting on Sammie to find out what was really going on with Wade. 

"That guy is not his twin, who he says did all these bad things. He's a shadow. Wade found someone who looks just like him, who he can put all the blame on." Caitlin was sounding weird now. 

Sammie wasn't sure if she should even mention this to Caitlin's husband, Deano, but she listened. Caitlin had a lot of bad things to say about Wade.
