Gabe didn't want to bring up this Wade thing with Pan, but he felt he needed to. Sure, he just knew he could get to the bottom of this with Deano (Caitlin's husband), but he's sworn Sammie he wouldn't.
"Why would Caitlin say these things about Wade?" Gabe was serious, but they weren't at Pan and Wade's. Gabe decided he should buy his brother dinner, even if it were just a burger and fries at the coffee shop.
"Oh, she's had it in for him for a while now," Pan nursed on his root beer float. "Wade says she had a crush on him."
"Well, it doesn't look like that now," Gabe watched Pan to see if maybe he wasn't telling him everything. He tilted his head. He couldn't quite decide. Maybe his brother was keeping something from him. All the while Pan was enjoying that creamy refreshment.
"I wish she wouldn't try to use Sammie this way," Gabe said as his brow furrowed. "I know Sammie means nothing to her. And my girl' pregnant, how could she even bring up something so ...I dunno, she so rude." Gabe couldn't help but make a face of disgust.
"I know. I used to work with her. She'd wanted me to find out things about Wade, before," Pan finally confessed.
"And did you?" Gabe glared at Pan.
"No. Not really," Pan shrugged. "Wade doesn't really remember her at all, you know."
"Strange," Gabe said, shaking his head. "It's all so strange."
"Just keep Caitlin away from Sammie."
The burgers and the onion rings came. Gabe couldn't help but take a hot ring to eat.
"Look, I'll talk to her. Her beef is with me. No one else."
Gabe sighed, wondering what was really going on with Wade.
The best thing is that every problem is solved through dialogue between the parties involved!

I really liked your collage once again!

ReplyDeleteDialogue is the best way to solve problems.
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right, yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, so we have to make the most of today.

ReplyDeleteOntem é história e amanhã é um mistério, pense numa frase verdadeira! Por isso temos que viver no hoje! Boas inspirações! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the title.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, sometimes we are haunted by our yesterdays and our past.
Tomorrow always remains a mystery, though.
Like Gabe, I also wonder what is going on with Wade.
