Happy Halloween

Needless to say, Melvin was scared shitless. He'd have to be drunk before he went on stage.

Of course, a few hours ago Caitlin was going on how her old boyfriend Brad was on World of Dance and made someone a baby momma. The only hurtful thing about the conversation was the fact she never referred to Brad as her ex. She could be so annoying and possibly knew it.

He felt as if he might literally shit himself on the makeshift stage on the backend of the flatbed truck. Tommy and Cori did all the electrical ingenuity and that little girl Tori brought him something in a thermos. Melvin was wide awake now and ready for anything.

Oh, it was really so cold. October truly felt brutal and rotten in the blackness of night. He didn't remember ever being so chilled. And there was Tori with one more thing. A scarf she'd crocheted. It was bright orange for Halloween.

"Well, thank you, sweetheart," Melvin really didn't know if she was of age, but she was a little cherub of sorts and oh so nice to him. Nothing at all like Caitlin. Now when he looked at Caitlin it was as if he was watching someone thinking up some way to bring him down. It was as if they were in HATE.

Naturally, he'd gone over the songs with the boys a dozen times or so. It was as if he should know them by now, but he was certain he'd mess up.

"If I fuck up, Tom you'll step in, won't you?" Melvin asked right before the soundcheck. Tommy only smiled as if he was on his own and it was a PG show. After all, people were arriving as if they needed to get out of the house on Halloween. Trick or treating didn't happen and even young couples with their little ones were here at the seven o'clock show (It was after all night). It felt like a long road ahead and he might have done better to have sung the Baby Shark song as an opener.

Melvin felt out of place of the times, but his team was ready and he needed a jolt. The moment he spoke he knew he was on fire with excitement.

"Don't worry folks," Melvin started with a grin. "There is nothing Harry Styles about me."

  1. That's an interesting way to start a show. Good description of stage fright as well as relationship dynamics. You really describe characters well with just a few words. The little details, like the girl who gifted an orange scarf, are great too.

  2. Uma ótima descrição, o pavor de pisar no palco deve ser um tormento para o ator/atriz.
    Bom findi!

  9. He is definitely original. I love that line he said to Tommy and how Tommy reacted. I am interested in to know more about Tommy and Tori, too.
