Happy Thanksgiving

It wasn't quite the crowd Megan expected for Thanksgiving, but it was probably for the best. There was plenty of time to meet her Nana on GOOGLE. Of course, it was a little awkward. Especially when Nana said, "Oh, you found a cute boy!"

"He has a name," Megan told her about Cori numerous times over the phone, long before Thanksgiving. Still to see him on her tablet was totally different. She kept referring to him as the boy the entire conversation. Nana was thankful he was there.

"She would have burned the bird, you know," she told him. "She isn't the best cook. She studies all the wrong things. I bet you can make a house a home, can't you?" Nana grinned and Megan could only grit a smile. This was as close as they were going to get to family on Thanksgiving.

Later, Cori got ahold of his brother on Facebook. Megan felt they practically had to smash their faces together just to be on the screen at the same time, but Cori smiled the whole time, even if his brother was cold. It was a short conversation.

Megan winced afterward thinking his big brother should be more caring. She wondered why. Cori didn't say much about him. Besides, there was pumpkin pie to enjoy and a side of eggnog pudding. Yes, they ate like pigs and napped on the livingroom floor while music from the 90's played in the background as if they were remembering someone. Although, Megan hadn't remembered anyone.

Dylan was happy to see Tori the night before. They'd decided to take on Thanksgiving, early that morning. Dylan had never made the whole Thanksgiving meal. As if was, he baked a turkey breast and the stuffing was Stove Top. But Tori didn't mind. She didn't want to invite Tommy over, either. Dylan didn't ask why. He didn't ask about Caitlin either. He'd texted her several times.

About nine Thanksgiving night, his boss Mazie showed up a little sloshed wanting Thanksgiving.

"But, it's already over?" He hadn't expected her to show up, but her son was with his father and she was a little sad so Tori and Dylan ended up drinking the wine with her that she brought.

"Girls! We need to get this year over!" Mazie sounded as if it were the New Year already. "I hate this year with a passion." This is when she went into great detail how hard it was to be single again. "Am I right girls?"

Dylan only looked at her wide-eyed hoping he wasn't going to have to explain anything to Tori. After dancing to some eighties tunes with her for the next three hours, Dylan called a cab, and he and Tori took her home.

Caitlin found a way to hang out with Wade. Initially, he told her he didn't date for various reasons, but if she wanted to play pool with him then sure it was OK with him. Along the way, she found out he knew Cori. This felt like fate to Caitlin. She was so happy to know this, of course, she was bad at playing pool, but it was fun watching him in the dark empty pool hall.

"I know his brother," Wade finally said over the breakfast special at an all-night diner. "I was the one who got Cori the job at the pizzeria."

"Really?" Caitlin was shocked. Especially, when she found out Cori was his replacement. "You know, Melvin?"

Wade only shrugged and bit into a piece of bacon. "He's married, you know," he finally told her after he finished his hashbrowns and sunny side eggs.

"What?" Caitlin scowled. This was the last thing she ever thought she would find out on Thanksgiving.
