When that last kiss can mean something more

"Are you going to spend some time with her?" Bren wanted to know.

Mario was glum, why did she have to bring up Sammie. They were alone now. Sammie was off with Rico and Liv. They'd gone to the St. Paddy's parade and then to try that place with the best Rubens.

Couldn't the two of them be having sex about now? Not that he'd dare ask. He really would probably fall asleep before it was over. Yes, work was that kind of hell. But he'd gotten used to it. It could be worse. He could be roofing.

"What do you want me to do?" He didn't even feel like finishing off his Irish beer. He knew if he laid down he would be snoring in a minute or two.

"You two need to go out on a date," she told him.

"A date?" Mario sighed heavily, and he shook his head. He didn't think so.

"I'm worried about her." Bren looked so sad. She might have been saying, "I'm worried about us."

He kept staring at her. He really did love everything about her. He reached for her hand, pulled her into his lap at the kitchen table, and kissed her so longingly. It was all so intoxicating. He didn't think he was drunk on beer, but only her.

"I just want it to be us, you know," he said ever so breathlessly. "Let's not worry about Sammie." He took a chance to feel her up, but of course, she moved away. It was back to reality.

"You are her big brother. You must show her what she should look for in..in guys." Her eyes lit so like she might Tinker Bell buzzing around him with some magical truth he wasn't sure he knew of.

Mario sighed as he looked up at Bren. How could she say something like that?

"She's too young to even be thinking about guys." He told her and went back to the bottle of beer as if he didn't know he could persuade her for at least a quickie.

"I think she's..thinking of someone. She's been texting someone."

"Texting someone?" Mario's eyes lit.

"Yeah, I hear her laughing," Bren said.

"Well," Mario started to be in Big brother mode, but it was only for a second. He pulled Bren back in. "She's off with Rico and Liv." He was back to pulling in a kiss that might find its way to something more. And it did. He smiled. Timing was everything. He was right where he wanted to be with Bren.

  4. I hope Sammie's having fun. I wonder if Gabe tagged along? Meanwhile Mario and Bren are going t ohave a good night lol. I hope he's there for Sammie though, but at the same time not TOO over protective. It's a fine line...

  7. Mario and Bren are so good together. And Bren is so kind and thoughtful. It's not every woman who'd ward off her fiancé's ardor to talk him into being there for his little sister. I especially love the part where you compare Bren to Tinkerbell, her eyes alight with "some magical truth".

That's a shame that your character and set got shut down by the urstyle sorority. Ugh, people! Especially sororities; so much for sisterhood! Anyway, your writing (as you undoubtedly know!) is amazing: fun, funny, and suspenseful, shining a light on the ups and downs of the human condition. 😍📓 😍📓 😍📓
