Slow down, you are out of control

"You're not even her sister-in-law?" Chewy snapped. What was Sunny having? A daydream? He didn't think Sunny could stand her uncle's wife.

"Woo's always been a brother to me."

Sunny looked hurt that Chewy would have to made such a clarification. Of course, he did have his mind on other things, like Daisy.

Taking care of Daisy was like having an extra job with no pay and certainly no benefits. He thought Chai was on the mend, but that cough of his was lingering.

Chewy hurried through the kitchen cabinets to see if there was anything Daisy might eat. Of course, not. He winced when he saw the fiber protein bars. "Who got these?" He tensed ready to throw them away.

"You did."

He looked at her and saw her pout. He pouted back as if she could join his club. He wasn't living the single life lately.

"Does Chai know how you feel?"

He scowled back at her as if this was no time to make a dare. He slammed the cabinets shut. He would have to go to the store after all. "There's nothing to talk about." He didn't want to look at her. What could he say, nothing was working with that child to be potty trained.

"You don't date like you used to," she said.

"Oh, you noticed that, did you?" He hugged himself, pressing his lips tight. He knew what she'd say, always the date but never the boyfriend. It wasn't like a flock of birds were going to follow him to the assisted living place. Oh, sure, there were those old nurses that flirted and whatnot, but seriously, it just wasn't the same.

"I wonder why?" Sunny poured him a water at the dining table as if he should sit and calm down. He did, before he knew it he was rubbing his tired eyes.

"I don't want to go there," Chewy finally said. Yes, he could make a mess of things too easily. He didn't really want to do that with Chai. He wanted to be that good friend Chai need. Lord knows, he was so alone. "He needs help right now."

Funny, it made him a little misty-eyed, he'd never thought about someone so much in his life. And it was all Daisy's fault.
